About Marina Bay Sands

Garden by the Bay , Accompanied by MBS
The rain during december keep delaying my visit to the Garden by the Bay.
Finally today the rain stopped during the blue hour but dark cloud cover the sky........and i am able to visit it....
Gave up 15min of my precious blue hour to help a bunch of outgoing and chatty elderly to take some photos and sent it to them....
Good to help out people =) Life not always about $$$.....

This shot was taken at the .....During Friday , friends , couple and family will gather at this particular spot of vivocity(怡丰城) 's roof, where resort world sentosa(圣淘沙名胜世界) is adjacent to it. They can enjoy the light show and even the fireworks !!

During my visit to Rider's cafe , i was on a HDR learning journey , taking multiple exposure of my object.
However , I wasnt happy and satisified with the first few HDR outcome and get back to basic.
I just browse through my folder and decided to give another shot on it without doing too much manipulation.
Hope i will force myself to allocate some time learn more of photoshop to improve my photo shoot....
It's going to be a journey and not a race....

Singapore City view
Having my dinner at UOB Plaza 60th floor , Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant without a window seat make me frustrated as i thought i wont be able to take the city view at such a high level.
I cant get over thr thought of not getting a shot of it and i got thick skinned and went to the window nearby with no customers and take a quickie shot through the window.....
However , the window was quite dirty and i had no idea on how to prevent reflection on it.
This is the end result of what i took.
PS: I have lost my logon password to my flickr account but i still can upload but not edit it. Problem still to be resolved with Yahoo help.

Sights along Clark Quay
After my birthday dinner at UOB plaza 1 , the beautiful blue lights under Cavenagh Bridge and Esplanade bridge , accompanied by the golden lighted Fullerton hotel and spiky Esplanade along the clark quay river
attracted me to take a shot of it.
About Cavenagh Bridge
Formally known as the Edinburgh Bridge , it was the 3rd bridge built in Singapore on 1869 to commemorate the visit of the Duke of Edinburgh.
To honour the last India-appointed Governor of the Straits Settlements , Major General William Orfeur Cavenagh, it was then changed to Cavenagh Bridge.
It served as a connection between the north and south bank of Singapore river in the past to serve as a convience for the people.
For now , it connect from the side of Asian Civilisations Museum to the side of Fullerton Hotel.
About Esplanade bridge
The Esplanade Bridge is a 260 metre-long (850 ft.) road bridge that spans across the mouth of the Singapore River in Singapore with the Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay on its northern abutment and the Merlion on the southern.[1] The 70 metre-wide (230 ft.) low-level concrete arched bridge has seven spans and supports two four-lane carriageways and walkways along both sides.
The bridge was built to provide faster vehicular access between Marina Centre and the financial district of Shenton Way.[1] Construction of the bridge began in early 1994 and was completed in March 1997.[1] The main contractor was Obayashi Corporation. The bridge then blocked views of the Merlion statue from the Marina Bay waterfront, raising a need for the original Merlion statue to be relocated from the back to the front of the bridge.
About Fullerton hotel
Named after Robert Fullerton, the first Governor of the Straits Settlements, it was supposed to be a fort to defend the settlement against any naval attacks.
It then become the post office but it was redeveloped into a well known hotel in the modern days.
About Clark Quay River
Clarke Quay was named after Sir Andrew Clarke, Singapore's second Governor and Governor of the Straits Settlements from 1873 to 1875, who played a key role in positioning Singapore as the main port for the Malay states of Perak, Selangor and Sungei Ujong.
Clarke Quay is also the name of a road along the quay, part of which has since been converted into a pedestrian mall. Clarke Street, located next to Clarke Quay, was officially named in 1896, and was originally two streets known simply as East Street and West Street in north Kampong Malacca. Similar to Clarke Quay, Clarke Street has since been converted into a pedestrian mall.
The Hoklos (Hokkien) refer to Clarke Street as gi hok kong si au, meaning "behind the new Gi Hok Kongsi" (house). The new Gi Hok Kongsi was near Carpenter Street. Another Chinese reference, which only refers to the Southern bank around Read Bridge area, was cha chun tau (柴船头), meaning "jetty for boats carrying firewood". Small tongkangs carrying firewood from Indonesia berthed at this jetty. The firewood trade was primarily a Teochew enterprise.

Night Safari - Thumbuakar tribal performances
Thanks to my friend that i have a free entrance to the famous Singapore night tourist attraction , The Night Safari. to test my
AFS- VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f4.5/5.6 IF-ED
Just prior reaching to the entrance , i stumbled upon the Thumbuakar tribal performances. They dance along to the unique tribal music , accompanied by fire.
The fire-breathing action caught me by surprise and i scramble to set a correct camera exposure. With my new len, i am able to reach my subject , avoiding the crowds and capture some shots

Ben & Jerry's ChunkFest 2011 - [Team Awesome] 2011 Vermonster winner

Ben & Jerry hosted chunkfest at Marina Bay Promontory.
One of the key event is the Vermonster challenge where a team of 4 need to finish the following as listed below in the fatest time:
- 20 scoops of ice cream
-4 bananas
-3 cookies
-sprinkle of 1 dry topping
-1 brownie
-dollops of whipped cream
-drizzled with chocolate fudge / caramel.
Congratulation to "Team Aweasome" on finishing first with a timing of 1minute and 33secs.
And the prize is.....a 1 year supply of ben and jerry's worth SGD$1400... OMG.....how many rounds you need to run to compensate......
Other than this challenge, there are other activities such as singing performance by band,toe wrestling , blind-folded puzzle fixing and charity fund raising....
