It had been almost a year since i had started learning photography... It had been quite a journey but luckily there are mentor guiding me and my girlfriend whom gave me support....
Singapore is a small country with limited places for landscape/seascape , which is my main focus area....The only way for me to have a new perspective is to go to a higher ground...which is the flyer........
Heaven showed mercy on me , perhaps due to the fact it was my girlfriend's birthday that it was not raining and the sky was not bad , considering the fact that it had been a rainy month.....
I will be inviting my friends that are also into landscaping photography back to Singapore flyer tomorrow...
Meanwhil.... this is what i captured today....Posted for a quick update before i go to sleep.... Cheers....

Marina Bay Sands (traditional Chinese: 濱海灣金沙; simplified Chinese: 滨海湾金沙) is an integrated resort fronting Marina Bay in Singapore. Developed by Las Vegas Sands, it is billed as the world's most expensive standalone casino property at S$8 billion, including cost of the prime land.[1][2]
With the casino complete, the resort features a 2,561-room hotel, a 1,300,000-square-foot (120,000 m2) convention-exhibition centre, the 800,000-square-foot (74,000 m2) The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands mall, an iconic ArtScience museum, two large theatres, seven "celebrity chef" restaurants, two floating Crystal Pavilions, an ice skating rink, and the world's largest atrium casino with 500 tables and 1,600 slot machines. The complex is topped by a 340m-long SkyPark with a capacity of 3,900 people and a 150m infinity swimming pool, set on top of the world's largest public cantilevered platform, which overhangs the north tower by 67m.[3][4] The 20-hectare resort was designed by Moshe Safdie Architects. The local architect of record was Aedas Singapore, and engineering was provided by Arup and Parsons Brinkerhoff (MEP). The main contractor was Ssangyong Engineering and Construction.[5]
Originally set to open in 2009, Las Vegas Sands faced delays caused by escalating costs of material and labour shortages from the onset. The severe global financial crisis also pressured the company to delay its projects elsewhere to complete the integrated resort.[6] Although Marina Bay Sands has been compared on scale and development costs to MGM's CityCenter, the latter is a mixed-use development, with condominium properties (comprising three of the seven main structures) being sold off.[7][8]
The resort was officially opened with a two-day celebration on 23 June 2010 at 3.18 pm, after a partial opening (which included the casino) on 27 April 2010.[9] The SkyPark opened a day later on 24 June 2010. The theatres were completed in time for the first performance by Riverdance on 30 November 2010. The floating pavilions are still being built and are expected to be fully completed by 2011. The indoor skating rink, which uses artificial ice, opened to a performance by Michelle Kwan on 18 December 2010. The ArtScience Museum opened to the public and the debut of a 13-minute light, laser and water spectacle called Wonder Full on 19 February 2011 marked the full completion of the entire Integrated Resort.
The grand opening of Marina Bay Sands was held on 17 February 2011. It also marked the opening of the seven celebrity chef restaurants. The highly-anticipated Broadway musical The Lion King debuted on 3 March 2011.[10] The last portion of the Marina Bay Sands, the floating pavilions, were finally opened to the public when the two tenants (Louis Vuitton and Pangaea Club) opened on 18 September 2011 and 22 September 2011 respectively.

The Singapore Flyer is a giant Ferris wheel located in Singapore, constructed in 2005–2008. Described by its operators as an observation wheel,[2] it reaches 42 stories high, with a total height of 165 m (541 ft), making it the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, 5 m (16 ft) taller than the Star of Nanchang and 30 m (98 ft) taller than the London Eye.
Situated on the southeast tip of the Marina Centre reclaimed land, it comprises a 150 m (492 ft) diameter wheel, built over a three-story terminal building which houses shops, bars and restaurants, and offers broad views of the city centre and beyond to about 45 km (28 mi), including the Indonesian islands of Batam and Bintan, as well as Johor, Malaysia.
The final capsule was installed on 2 October 2007, the wheel started rotating on 11 February 2008 and it officially opened to the public on 1 March 2008.[1] Tickets for rides on the first 3 nights were sold out for S$8,888 (US$6,271), an auspicious number in Chinese culture.[2] The grand opening for the Flyer was held on 15 April 2008.[3]
Each of the 28 air-conditioned capsules is capable of holding 28 passengers, and a complete rotation of the wheel takes about 30 minutes.[4] Initially rotating in a counter-clockwise direction when viewed from Marina Centre, its direction was changed on 4 August 2008 under the advice of Feng shui masters.[5]

I was disappointed with the thoughts of reaching home without any good shots and so i decided to go up again using the tower 3........
This time round , the rain became smaller but the strong wind and water at the glass panel stills put my skills to a limit....

At this point of time...."i Light Marina Bay" light festive is on going... I could see the merlion being decorated with different colour.....On the floating platform , i could see lights blinking.....What a sight...
The “Switch Off, Turn Up” Campaign is going on in conjuction with the lighting festival , where stakeholders in and around Marina Bay are invited to switch off non-essential lighting whenever possible and turn up air conditioning temperatures to a comfortable 24 to 25 degrees during office hours.
The first edition in 2010 attracted 16 properties and saw collective savings of more than 41,000 kWh of electricity over the three week event period, translating into saving 22 tonnes of CO2 equivalent. This year, the number of properties that have committed to take part in the campaign has more than doubled to over 40. The campaign has also successfully extended its reach well beyond the Marina Bay precinct, with buildings across the island pledging their support.
The Singapore landmarks which are committed to reduce their energy use include very large properties like the prominent Marina Bay Sands – also Prime Sponsor of i Light Marina Bay – Marina Bay Financial Centre, as well as The Fullerton Heritage.
Some buildings, which took part last time, have agreed to undertake additional energy efficiency measures and would encourage their tenants to do likewise.
For the 2010 lighting festival, City Developments Limited (CDL) involved four of its properties. It has taken the initiative this year to step up its commitment to introduce a total of 12 of its Singapore buildings into the “Switch Off, Turn Up” Campaign. Already a sustainability leader at home, CDL has made it for the third successive year onto the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations Listing, ranking at 62nd for 2012.

About the Festival
......
i Light Marina Bay, Asia's first and only sustainable light art festival was first held from 15 October to 7 November in 2010. Presented by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and organised by Smart Light Singapore (SLS), the event celebrated Marina Bay's nightscape through the showcase of 25 dynamic and innovative light art installations along the 3.5km waterfront promenade.
The installations made use of energy-efficient lighting and created awareness for energy-saving lighting technology for the urban environment. The "Switch Off, Turn Up" campaign kicked off a programme supported by Marina Bay stakeholders to Switch Off non essential lighting and Turn Up air-conditioning temperatures for the festival period. This initiative has come about to offset energy usage and promote energy savings from lighting. Programmes and fringe activities targeting families, students, industry professionals and the general public were also planned as part of the Festival.
The inaugural festival was a substantial success and was attended by more than 433,000 visitors over a three-week duration, of which approximately 71,031 were international visitors.
This is the second edition of i Light Marina Bay, and will be held from 9 March to 1 April 2012. Themed "Light Meets Asia", the sophomore will feature more than 30 innovative and environmentally sustainable light art installations, with a strong focus on works from Asia.
The Festival's curatorial team . is helmed by Festival Director Mary-Anne Kyriakou, and includes two co-curators: Charmaine Toh, a Singapore visual arts curator; and the team from Singapore award-winning design studio FARM. In line with the theme "Light Meets Asia", the curatorial team has selected the sustainable light art installations from over one hundred submissions. The final selection of installations features a strong representation from new, emerging, and well-known artists from countries across Asia, including Singapore. To find out more about the artists and their installations, click here .
Apart from the visually arresting and interactive sustainable light art installations, visitors to i Light Marina Bay 2012 can look forward to a full array of complementary programmes and activities – including a night carnivals, outdoor performances, guided tours, educational talks and workshops – all to ensure that there is something for everyone.

Once again , the words from the wise had proven me once again that post processing is more important than a good gear.... You guys can go buy the Nikon D4 , D800 or even the latest Canon markIII but without a fundmental post processing skill , all these gear are merely nothing more....
I'm am not trying persuade anyone not to upgrade their gears but to think twice again before falling into the "having the latest and greatest" trap....
This photo is a rework of my previous image that is dull.... Blast me with all the compliments and crictisim !

About Marina Bay Sands

Gardens by the Bay consists of three distinctive waterfront gardens – Bay South, Bay East and Bay Central, spanning a total of 101 hectares. They are set in the heart of Singapore’s new downtown Marina Bay, encircling the Marina Reservoir like a green necklace. The Gardens will complement the array of attractions around Marina Bay.
Gardens by the Bay is an integral part of a strategy by the Singapore government that further transforms Singapore from a ‘Garden City’ to a ‘City in a Garden’, in which the city is woven into a green and floral tapestry. This aims to raise the quality of life in Singapore with a more holistic and all-encompassing programme that enhances greenery and flora in the city. First announced to the public by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong during the National Day Rally in August 2005, Gardens by the Bay will become Singapore’s premier urban outdoor recreation space, and a national icon.
An international competition for the design of the master plan was held in January 2006 to elicit the best designs for the Gardens. This attracted more than 70 entries submitted by 170 firms from 24 countries, from which two firms – Grant Associates and Gustafson Porter – were eventually awarded the master plan design for the Bay South and Bay East Gardens respectively.
The Gardens are being developed in phases. Bay South is currently being constructed and is slated to be completed by June 2012. Bay East has been developed as an interim park in support of the Youth Olympic Games 2010, and is scheduled to open to the public in late 2011 or early 2012. The full master plan implementation of Bay East and the development of Bay Central are part of the next phase of development.
About Singapore River, ,From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia . .
The river is now part of the Marina Reservoir after damming the Singapore River at its outlet to the sea to create a new reservoir of freshwater. While damming this area would create a valuable source of fresh water for the tiny city-state, it would have prevented the docking of ocean-going ships at the Singapore River which was arguably the original reason Singapore came into existence. The dam is known as Marina Barrage.[citation needed]
Whereas the original mouth of the Singapore River emptied into Singapore Straits and its southern islands before major land reclamation took place, the Singapore River now empties into Marina Bay - an area of water partially enclosed by the reclamation work. The Port of Singapore is now located to the west of the island, using most of the south-west coast, and passenger ships to Singapore now typically berth at the Singapore Cruise Centre at HarbourFront. Thus the Singapore River's economic role has shifted away from one that of trade, towards more a role accommodated for tourism and aesthetics for the commercial zone which encloses it.
About Merlion, ,From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia . .
The Merlion (Malay: Singa-Laut) is a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, used as a mascot of Singapore. Its name combines "mer" meaning the sea and "lion". The fish body represents Singapore's origin as a fishing village when it was called Temasek, which means "sea town" in Javanese. The lion head represents Singapore's original name — Singapura — meaning "lion city" or "kota singa".
The symbol was designed by Fraser Brunner, a member of the Souvenir Committee and curator of the Van Kleef Aquarium, for the logo of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in use from 26 March 1964 to 1997[1] and has been its trademarked symbol since 20 July 1966. Although the STB changed their logo in 1997, the STB Act continues to protect the Merlion symbol.[2] Approval must be received from STB before it can be used. The Merlion appears frequently on STB-approved souvenirs.
The merlion— a mythical creature with the body of a fish and the head of a lion— occurs in a number of different artistic traditions. Lions with fishtails can be found on Indian murals at Ajanta and Mathura, and on Etruscan coins of the Hellenistic period. Merlions, or ‘heraldic sea- lions’, are an established element of Western heraldry, and have been used on the coat of arms of the cities of Portsmouth and Great Yarmouth in the United Kingdom; the City of Manila; and the East India Company.

I'm am not trying persuade anyone not to upgrade their gears but to think twice again before falling into the "having the latest and greatest" trap....
This photo is a rework of my previous image that is dull.... Blast me with all the compliments and crictisim !

About Marina Bay Sands

This beautiful park, with its lakes and bridges, colourful shrubs and lush greenery, is one of the largest and most popular parks in Singapore. Divided into two plots, Pond Gardens (formerly Bishan Park 1) and River Plains (formerly Bishan Park 2), Bishan Park caters to park users of all ages with exciting features, including community gardens, a landmark viewpoint with a sculpture (entitled, An Enclosure for a Swing), three exciting playgrounds (each with its own a distinctive theme), and a River Promenade.
One of the main highlights of the park is the naturalised, meandering river that transforms into a flood plain during stormy weather. Restored and reshaped from a concretised canal, the river will bring park users closer to the water to enjoy its serenity and beauty.
The meandering river and the new facilities are products of the joint collaboration between NParks and PUB, under the latter Active, Beautiful and Clean Waters (ABC Waters) Programme. For more details, please refer to the following press release.

Punggol Waterway - Stormy Day
Via Flickr:
Call it stubbornness or determination that i manage to "squeeze" out a photo taking session….
On my way to the punggol waterway… it started to drizzle with dark cloud over hang the sky and the thought of a nice sun rise is far within sight……
I decided to stick to my decision to go to punggol waterway , instead of turning back home….with my *finger crossed*
Luck was on my side as the rain stop and the some cloud disperse for me to catch a glimpse of the sunset sight……

My Waterway@Punggol is Singapore’s first man-made waterway and it traverses through the entire Punggol eco-town.
The 4.2km waterway connects Punggol Reservoir to Serangoon Reservoir. With the completion of Punggol Waterway, residents can now look forward to a new generation of waterfront housing with a vibrant mix of commercial and leisure attractions.
It was launched on 23rd october 2011 with an event called Punggol Waterway Fiests. The main highlight were eco festival Market , Family Fun , Carnival and heritage. PM Lee Hsien Loong was the guest of honor and firework display was held !
